Two domains, related, but not.

We have a domain I'll call company.com. We're looking to create a brand-new domain which will not be connected to it in any way - whole new forest, in fact. I want to call this one office.company.com (let's say). In DNS I know they look related - one is a subdomain of the other. Fine. Will AD be upset that the two domains aren't trusted or anything?

From AD perespective You will be fine with such setup - in case of trusts just make sure that Your DNS works correctly from both sides perespecitve.
